A different kind of event

Not another
photography
workshop.

MPS is built around personal vision and creative process — not locations, not gear, not producing the same photographs as everyone else. It draws together a deliberately small group of photographers who value depth over volume and conversation over instruction.

Intentionally limited

Small by design,
not by accident.

MPS caps attendance at 72 people — not because of venue constraints, but because the experience only works at this scale. Smaller means better conversations, more personal field time, and a genuine sense of community rather than a crowd.

Evening gatherings

Come for the images. Stay for the conversation.

PhotoJAM is a relaxed evening gathering — good food, drinks, and a chance for attendees to share short image sequences, work-in-progress slideshows, or whatever they’ve been thinking about.

Hosted by Mike Hayden, it has a looser, more communal energy than the daytime sessions. Participation is welcome but never required. It tends to be one of the most memorable parts of the week.

Format

Short image sequences · Slideshows · Open sharing · Informal discussion · No formal critique

Is MPS right for you?

We’re looking for a particular kind of photographer.

You’ll feel at home here if…
You want to deepen your personal vision and develop a more distinctive voice in your work.
You value creative conversation and ideas as much as you value technique.
You’re an intermediate or experienced photographer ready to think differently about your work.
You want an experience that feels more meaningful than a typical workshop.
You appreciate small-group settings where genuine exchange is possible.
This may not be for you if…
You’re mainly looking for camera settings, gear advice, or technical instruction.
You want a fast-paced tour of iconic locations with a full checklist of famous spots.
You expect a workshop built around guaranteed portfolio shots at predictable locations.
You’re looking for a high-energy outdoor adventure experience — MPS is quieter by design.
