How registration works

Simple, transparent,
no surprises.

Registration is straightforward. A $595 initial payment confirms your spot, the balance is automatically charged 120 days before the event, and we’ll send a reminder before processing it.

1
Complete the registration form
Your name, contact info, and a few short questions about your photography background help us understand who’s attending and prepare accordingly.
2
Reserve your spot with $595
A $595 initial payment confirms your registration and is applied toward your total. The remaining balance is automatically charged to the same card 120 days before the event begins — we’ll send a reminder before the charge is processed.
3
Choose your field sessions
As soon as your registration is confirmed, you’ll rank your preferred field session leaders right on the confirmation page and get your Tuesday and Wednesday placements immediately. Placements go in registration order, so registering early gives you the best shot at your top choices.
4
Receive planning details
After registration, you’ll receive essential planning information, including lodging details when available. Approximately six weeks before the symposium, we’ll send your final confirmation package with your confirmed field sessions, schedule notes, and arrival details.
5
Complete pre-event forms
Before the event, you’ll receive any required waivers and final preparation notes. These must be completed before arrival.
Cancellation policy

If plans change, here’s how it works.

Your $595 initial payment reserves your place and is applied toward your total. Refunds are subject to a 5% processing fee.

More than 120 days out
Your $595 initial payment is refunded, less the 5% processing fee.
90 – 120 days out
Your initial payment becomes non-refundable. Any additional payments are refunded, less the 5% processing fee.
Within 90 days
Payments are non-refundable. If we’re able to fill your place, we’ll refund payments received, less the 5% processing fee. We’ll make a reasonable effort, but cannot guarantee your place will be filled.

Transfers. If you can’t attend, you may transfer your registration to another person with our written approval. Please contact us before making transfer arrangements.

Participation waiver

All participants are required to complete a waiver before arriving.

MPS requires all registered attendees to sign a standard liability and participation waiver prior to the event. The waiver covers participation in field workshops, outdoor activities, and the symposium generally.

The waiver will be sent digitally with your confirmation package, approximately 6 weeks before the symposium. It must be completed before arrival. If you have questions about the waiver content, email us before registering.
